Casa na Rua da Vinha, a Douro River panoramic house

Introduction
The new Resende panoramic house is the result of the restoration and extension of a mid-1900s traditional country house in the Douro region.
The property where the project takes place is composed by the small plot (where the house is located), and the big plot, that is a space destined to contemplation and leisure areas, oriented by the natural elements of vegetation and water.
The main feature of the property is the view of the Douro River, which is especially enhanced by the last part of the afternoon. At this time of the day, the clear Portuguese sunlight is reflected by the extended river bay in a sparkling white surface, framed by the vineyard vegetation of the surrounding hills. This spectacle of sunrays immersing into the water is a conceptual inspiration.

Housing project
By the side of the restored existing construction, the new construction is located at the same level of the first floor of the existing house (where the original living spaces were). The ground floor area of the existing house will maintain its original function of service area (storage, laundry, gardening support storage spaces, others to define).
The covered exterior spaces that will take place below the new construction, will serve as an exterior living space, with exterior fireplace / barbecue and fixed sitting area.
The original house first floor will host the cozy living room (sofa area) and the three bedrooms (one of which is a suite room), besides the bathrooms area.
The new construction areas will host the kitchen, dining and main living room, with a fireplace. From this newly conceived space, the mystic expression the Douro River will be cached from a wide glazed surface. Considering the geographic characteristics of the site, the view will be inalterable. From this space, oriented West and South, will be possible to access the exterior terrace, where a Jacuzzi heated hydromassage pool will be located and a space to have a sunbath or enjoying the sunlight.
